Default JDM B16 EF Mounts???

Ok so i picked up a crx like a week ago and have a built ls/vtec that im going to put in it. It was originally for another car but this thing kind of fell together and now the motor is going into the rex insted. I just ordered a jdm front clip and was wondering if it would be possible to cut the b16 motor mounts out of the jdm rex and weld them into my usdm rex so that i wont need to buy a mount kit. I was thinking that with the higher deck hieght of the 1.8l it might hit the hood or something. Has anyone ever done this before?

Possible but why when for around $150 you can get a mount kit now...its worth the money for it, check out the classifiesd one of the sponsors has them for around that price shipped, or look for a good deal used, I got my AZ racing mounts and linkage for under $200

wow....That reminds me of my early days. Let me tell you this....have a fun time cutting. We found out that the mounts weren't welded on....they were fused on on different parts. I don't remember what that was called. So you drill the holes out and knock the mount off. you have to make sure the motor sits right. Use a leveler, rulers, jacks, everything you can. If you want to really do this the old way.....i'll try to find our old video of this swap. Its so old...it was on vhs. I'm so serious.....buy the mounts. This is not worth it. And you WILL NOT get it to sit like a jdm one. You may get close...but thats it. You can make the motor sit lower, but why would you. Clear the hood or clear the ground? DON't do it......buy the drop kit.
