Well 2 weekends ago my car decided it didn't want to shift anymore. It was stuck in 3rd I think, maybe 4th, wouldn't change gears. The shifter would move all over, but the gears never changed. Finally got around to cracking it open today to see the damage.

Outcome:
-Broken 5th gear and slider
-Broken 5/R fork
-Broken 3-4 fork

Got the thing mostly put back together with some Mitsu bought parts, and some scraps we found. I need a couple clips yet, so I should have them tomorrow, finish the rebuild, and get the tranny back in with the new clutch!

i've considered getting an old like 90 hatch and doing a ghetto setup on it, but even if I did I'd still own my DSM. Ya it occasionally breaks, but it's usually my own fault. This time, hey the tranny was ready to go apparently, and it went. Now hopefully I can get another 100k outta it

 

Well my ghetto garage rebuild with some random spare parts, and a couple new parts, must have worked pretty good. She's back in action, running great on 20psi.

That was me 2 months ago, sitting on the side of the road in Blaine with 9 bent valves. And little kids walking by asking me what I was doing. So depressing.

But damn I sure am suprised this tranny is working as well as it is. I just tore into the thing not knowing ---- about it.
