O2 Sensor wiring question
On my ODB0 Civic I needed to re-attach the connector that plugs to the O2 sensor, so, after I removed the tape and exposed the connection (not from factory) I saw that the wire was shielded. What I mean is that it has two sets of stranded wires seperated by the insulation. (sort of like a Coaxial TV Cable)
The question I have is:
When I'm connecting the inner wire to the O2 sensor where do I connect the outer wire?
(It was connected by the inner wire only, so thats what I did.)
Is this the proper way of wiring a shielded wire, or does it connect to something else?
Anyway why is this wire like this? Does anyone know?
If not, Im gonna put it back using solder and heat shrink to attach it, because I didnt have a problem with it before (other than the connector becoming detached)
Thanks
