I took apart my z6 head so I could do a mild port & polish. When I got the valves out I noticed and little hole on the exaust port of either #1 or #4 (cant remember). i then started poking at it and it got bigger (full of carbon). It looks like it would be some sort of egr port or something but, d's dont have egr and it go's nowhere that I can tell. I looked at a buddies z6 head to make sure it wasnt something that all z6 heads had and it didn't have it! So now I'm starting to wonder if the is even a z6 head. Could it be a VX head or something? Sure as hell looks like a z6 to me though because the low cam lobes are the same for both intake valves. Doesnt the VX only open one valve? If someone could help me out that would be great before I start porting the ---- out of it.

do some d-series in other countries have egr?

 

yup, but they are usually stamped with another code. I wouldnt worry about it, port it out.

 

I have a D15B and the head has the exhaust hole and I just got a Z6 head and it has the hole too... The Z6 head and 15B head are identical... YOUR GOOD.
