Default New pressure plate concern (pics)

I just received my Clutch Specialties Stage II with the street disc for my turbo civic, and when I opened the box the pressure plate looked as if the paint was removed from the center section. Ive been told that the wear is from the shipping, but it appears on both sides. The surface looks brand new as if it were never used.
Can someone give me a second opinion on whether I should install it or if it looks defective? I understand from time to time new parts can be defective, and there is a 6mo. manufacturer warranty. I really do NOT want to do this job twice.

Today I :1 was told that : "The teeth are induction hardneded and heat treated as well, so sometimes the paint sticks differently and leaves that discolored ring in the center. "
So, thanks anyway, but it seems that this is normal, and it is not deffective.
