Got tired of long DX gears and wanted something new. Found a B16 out of a del sol on Honda-Tech for $1500 for the complete swap and I had to pick it up.
After being an advocate of the sohc for 3 years I finally gave into the dark side and bought a B series, on with the pics.











Thanks to Brian and Dave for the help. I have yet to get vtec working because I work 40 hours a week and ecu pins are giving me grief. I was using the stock P30 which involves running 3 wires, probably going to put a chipped and vtec P06 in so I only have to run one wire. Car feels great, the motor runs so well. B16 gears are insane and with 13 inch wheels I pull 4K at 65 on the highway...

I'll probably turbo it this year sometime. If I do I'm going to spend some more cash than I did on the sohc so I gotta do some saving.

 

thats one thing I hated about my crx si trans, atound about 75mph youre @ 4k and its quite loud open downpipe, but i can bear it

65 and 4k is quite a difference though

 

Once I put 15's on it I figure I'll get another 5-10 mph.

not unless you get 4x4 tires. most people run either 195/50/15s which are smaller than your stock tires, or 205/50/15s which are only a teeny tinny bit bigger than stock, either way you wont get 5/10mph unless you run like a 215/60/15, then MAYBE.

 

Alex, chip the P30 and disable the knock and the VTP.

 

I think p30s are worth money and wanted to keep it virgin but I might end up chipping it if this p06 doesn't work out.
