i built a mini me setup with some spare parts in my shed and i got it running and everything but now its smoking and it smells sweet like coolant and the temp gauge is alittle higher than normal than normal running conditions i had a brand new y-8 headgasket and torqued it down...i dont know why it would smoke that much except for my last turbo set up my turbos seals broke and got alot of oil everywhere in the IM and the exhaust

 

maybe there was a lil gasket left on the top of the cylinder walls and water seeps through? cause the sweet smell is your coolant for sure..well you can check your intake manifold gasket the far end by the thermostat housing. there is a water passage and mine did the same thing cause I have a lil gash in the gasket so it leaked out my water, so maybe yours is doing the same thing only going into the intake lil by lil...just check it out...
