I am boosting 0.7bar with k03 turbo on EDM 1.5 civic. Yesterday I raced around townd and lost 5-th and revers gear(it is d16z6 gearbox). I returned home slowly and realized my gearbox is history. The car puls great and has a lot of power but not as close as some cars on this forum. How much power and torqe can stock hoda 1.6 or 1.5 gearbox take?

 

Way more than you were making. Did you have enough oil? That end of the tranny usually is the first to go when you have low oil since it recieves oil last. If there is not enough, then all of the oil that does make it up to the oiling channel will go to the other gears first, leaving none for the 5-R section.

 

I am not shure about the oil level but since i have 1-4 gear that could be the problem

 

If your gonna break a Honda tranny its normally the diff explodes.I too think you might have been low on oil.Did it have any leaks prior?Get a replacement and you will be fine you are not making nearly enough power yet.

 

I was under the car that morning. No leaks. It might be that the gear box was ----. I am putng my original gear box in. I will have 1-50km/h, 2-110km/h, 3-150km/h, 4-200km/h and 5 gear is well over 230km/h dependig on how much I squeze the engine. Right now the engine is great but every thing else i to weak. My turbo is leaking oil when pushed wery hard more that once. It smokes black and blue like a bi..h. But it makes boos great so I will nit chage any thing yet. I am only consernd that my LC-1 does not break up from all the burned oil and smoke. I am runing on wide band all the time. Is that ok?
