Where is a good place/ website where I can send my Rods to get these treatments? I bought a set of mazda 323 GTX rods and want to beef em up a tad more.

 

I had my turbo mazda truck rods shot peened and they fucked up the rod bolts, you have to buy new rods from mazda to get them.

 

are they stock or aftermarket rods

 

on my old ls vtak the pistons were cryo frozen and the rods shot peened, also had shot peened rods on my z6 turbo but that #1 cylinder rod also took out the back and front of the block on 9psi, due to detonation of course. just keep them stock its not really worth it. buy after market ones if your really really concerned.

 

There Stock GTX rods about 50 grams beefier than the miatas and Forged good for 400 rwhp. I just want the extra insurence.

 

I too was wondering this, *might* be starting a build with my buddy's KA24DE, need the rods shot peened... but that project might be a no-go since he tapped the *** end of a F350 Dolly the other day

 

you can take them to your local automotive machine shop, they should be able to do it...

They do but just to give an Idea it cost 50 euro a cylinder to get a block honed and bored .2 over so that would be $290 roughly and a P&P is like 450 euro so $600-$700
