well last week i was welding some ---- up and couldnt find my welding gloves i always wear... so i figure what the hell be a man and just hold the ------- pipe together.... well that had bad news written all over it. The second i pulled the trigger i felt intense heat on my ring finger and i saw an arc shoot out into my finger fallowed by a god awfull smell and the ever so familiar sizzle.... DOnt know what hurt more... getting shocked, or getting burnt... i could get my ring off cause it was seered onto my skin, nothing happend to it except a tiny scratch from where it got stuck to the pipe

well needless to say im never welding without gloves again.

this is like 5 days after it happened... i popped the blister this morning, it was twice as big

yeah i know im an idiot...

I weld with my ring on and don't wear gloves but it's the hand that holds the gun. Now just say to the wife, "why do you always hurt me".

 

i weld with out gloves too and always get redic weld sunburn. :1

 

Guy I worked with literaly welded a box wrench to his wedding ring. Arced it across a battery terminal and bam instant weld lol. His first thought was to cool it off in the f'n parts washer haha. His was far worse though you got lucky. Lets just say when he went to remove the ring the skin came with it. Had to go to the ER and they wound up cutting the ring off and stitched up his finger.

 

This is why you dont work with anything metalic your hands.
