subaru Turbo *pic*
Well i have a subaru xt turbo that i dont have much money in. Im thinking the rings might be bad how it is smoking( under decel + a throttle blip makes a cloud)
So, any ways i figured i could put it on my D16A1 down the road if it is a decent turbo to use... It boost quick and it is a very small turbo(desgned for a 1.8 subaru.)
Has anybody used them ? after all i would have to use the factor flanges and fashion a downpipe.

i put a quarter on the the turbo for the pic
I know its an ihi but il check later on the model

several people have used them on this site, look in the turbo projects section on the front page. its an IHI RHB5 turbo (thats what they are listed as on that page too). my opinion its too small of a turbo for the D16A1, but its still very usable on that engine....
Has anybody had any smoke problems like mine
It mostly does it coming off a hill (auto) and then get on the gas and it will shoot out a cloud (whitish with a blue tent) there is no coolant in the oil and no oil in the coolant. Does it sound like the turbo or the rings..

ok minor update:
i pulled of the charge pipe and there is oil in the couplings between the turbo and the throttlebody. it runs up hilll but i guess it still gets there.. So im thinking it is the turbo seals. Will i have to take the whole turbo apart to change or is it an easy job?

I have oil in my IM and my turbo is fairly new.
