Default Welding pwns me......JB Weld to the rescue

So i was trying to make a flange adapter for my bov and............i suck horribly at welding. I have the 90Amp Fluxcore welder from Harbor Freight and i can't get a bead going. all i have is a bunch of splatter and melted tubing. Thank goodness JB Weld was invented.

lol......galvanized.....hmm...... well its just some exhaust pipes i got from pepboys......but i did grind down the area where i was welding... this is like my first welding experience besides testing my welder on a drill bit and a monkey wrench.
I didn't think it would be so hard......those guys at the ghetto looking exhaust shops make it look so easy!

i learned a few things real quick on how to get the hf fluxcore to make a nice bead. Stickout from the end of the tip should be about 1/2", anything more makes the arc get too hot and burn the wire before a bead can start.. anything less clogs the tip of the welder. My tip also got clogged often, so i had to take the tip off and clean it kind of often. The next big advancement came from making circles as i was welding. Making small circles instead of just traveling straight really made some nice beads for such a cheap *** welder. HF represent, i have their welder, chop saw, and 4" grinder (for all the fluxcore madness)

a little present from me to you....

y helo thar noob mig! i gotta admit, for mig, and using exhaust adapters which are steel, you need to slow your wire feed, or up your amperage, from what it seems, but i pretty much never mig, because i love my little sticky welder
