D series cam timing adjustment

Default D series cam timing adjustment

i have a d16y8 and my cam gear is advanced 2 degrees. my freind said i do not need to set it back to 0 when i tune just adjust it from the distributor. is this right?if so wat is stock timing for a d16y8?

cam timing effect ignition timing but they needs to be adjusted seperatly.

adjust cam timing by the cam gear, ig timing must be adjusted after u touch the cam gear
ignition timing can be adjusted at the dizzy.

Adjusting cam timing on single cams is a bit pointless anyways unless you have some radical cam.

it is safe to certain point before the valve will hit, it boost up low end power by a pretty good margine but it will feel like ---- when u rev high

yeah, 8.4 hp difference with a stock cam, no difference at all.

Retard the Y8 cam three degrees for better top end.
