you guys see that metal thing in the new one right? the old one i can see down in it. that one has a metal somthin right below the threads, thats why i think it may be defective.

BTw it will be fine since the thread are INSIDE the bore, it will seal once u tighten it done i don`t see any problem.

Either way you should install it, start it then hope it leaks, you and the car catch on fire so u can sue autozone for a few million bucks and thank me by sending me half of it.

anyhow, I say it's fine, the filter, If you are worried go back to autozone and ask for another one, look at it and see it they are the same. Could just be a different improved design.
