Default car just shut off on the way to school

so i'm drivin to school today and my car is actin normal. no cel or anything. when i left the house, there was some light white smoke(smelled like fuel, i think i'm runnin a bit rich lately cuz i've been gettin the o2 cel), but it went away. i'm driving down the road in 4th and it just felt like a ---- load of fuel got dumped in the engine, it just bogged down really bad. so i shifted to 3rd and it ran good for a sec, then it bogged exactly the same way, so i pulled over into the gas station and it had stopped running. my oil and batt light were on but that's just normal, the battery and alternator are hooked up fine, and the oil is perfect.

you think i may have fouled my spark plugs w/ too much fuel?

i pulled a plug wire and held it to a ground and it's gettin spark, so it must be the spark plugs or it's not gettin fuel.

i guess i'm gonna put in a new cap anyways, cuz it didn't look awesome last time i saw it and put in some new spark plugs and see if i can make the 20 min ride back home.

for about the past week , when i try to go very light throttle,( maybe 5 percent) like when you just wanna keep your speed the same it shakes pretty hard. it kinda accelerates, decelerates non stop, but if i hit the throttle a little mor it runs just fine. sometimes my wot boggs too if i hit it too early, but after about 3k i can put it all the way down

i need to get my wideband hooked up this weekend and get some tuning done cuz i did do some port work, but i've just been running a stock map w/ 2 degrees less timing.

please help me, i've gotta get my car out by 10 or it's towed, thanks

nope not turbo. its a 89 std model w/ a recent a6 swap, i also tried to reset the ecu by pullin off the battery for a couple minutes but no luck. i really think it's the plugs, but i couldn't pull em out w/o my tools

well i found out the problem, my car was runnin rich as ----, the plugs are a very powdery black

I got my wideband workin tonight and all calibrated, i'm gettin a cap and new plugs to put in on sat, then tune the fuel cuz it was wayyyy fucken off

i recommend the wbo2.com widebands for the DIY enthusiast, the kit wasn't really that hard to put together took about a week of 2 hrs of work each night or somethin like that all in all i think i paid a little over 200, but it's got all kinds of great features, 8 inputs to add to your datalogging and amazing customer support, they're just so nice and helpful those aussie's
