Default release trans from Block

I am having a little truble removing the transmition from the block on my D16, the motor is out of the car and I have removed the 5 main bolts and the starter. Any suggestions as all I have been able to do is move the trans about 1/2 and inch from the block.

you need to pull it straight off the motor so the input shaft comes out if you try to pull it on an angle it won't come off

If it is hydro, put a spare slave cylinder on and hit it with air pressure. If it is cable, stick a prybar in the lever and go at it. That usually gets it far enough to stick a prybar between the block & bell housing.
