turbo housing weldable??

Default turbo housing weldable??

hey i was just wondering if the compressor housing on a garrett t-25 is pure aluminum and if it can be welded..i just didnt know if it is some wierd allow or some crappy pot metal..thanks guys..

I don't see why not. Allmost all aluminums are weldeable, but some loose their stranght if they are welded. Thats why there are only a couple of alloys that are weldeable with out loosing their streingth, one of them being 6161.

is that what the intake manifold is made of for an a6? or what kind of weldable aluminum is it, cuz i saw you had done it. niceee
