VTEC Crossover on ls/vtec(gs-r) start point
So I just got the ls/vtec up and done, and am just kinda playing a guessing game here with the vtec rpm settings.
Where is a good point to start with? For now its at 4800, I had a feeling that might be a little too soon, thoughts?
I know that the only real way to set it for optimal results is to get it on a dyno and dial it in proper, but thats not what I am asking nor what I am looking for. Just looking for opinions on the ideal "starting line" if you will.

I always seem to like 5200 for a starting point. B16's (depending on cams of course) seem to like it a smidge higher. 5400-5500ish.
My GSR w/ ITR has a butter cross-over at 5338. My B16 liked 5500. A recent GSR (gsr cams and IM), was absolutley perfect at 5188.
If you're ---- and have the patience, tune the low cam out to 6k with a perfectly flat A/F, then do the same w/ the high cam starting at 4500. Look for when the fuel crosses and you'll have it. *** dyno seems to work just as good though.

Wait, you mean you finally bucked up and put a real head on your LS? Sweet dude.
<--- waiting for JD to come in here w/ his stories about how LS heads dominate vtec heads when they have crower cams. hahah. I wanna see this LS/crower setup that beats the stock ITR dyno plot. Really, Im curious.
