was going to do a tune up on my girlfriends 95 tercel and noticed that her engines all wierd and ----. theres two spark plug wires from cyls 1&2, with cyl 1 wire leading to some electric pack on cyl 4 and cyl 2 to a pack on cyl 3. I dont see a distributor either ! Does anybody know the parts necessary to do a tuneup on this type of setup... cuz i'm lost. I'm used to replacing plugs, FOUR wires, dist cap and rotor, etc. I can only seem to find repair manuals for up to 94 tercels. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cuz I'm freakin confused. BTW please let me know what these two "packs" are actually called, I just call them that cuz I don't know the name.

 

its a DLI system. distributor less ignition system. just take the two wires off and the two packs and change the spark plug. remember to put them back where you took them off. "ignition coil" are the two packs.
