shaft play?

what does shaft play feel like and how is the best way to test for play?is there a certain limit or it cant have play at all? let me know thanks

grab a hold of both wheels and wiggle em in and out and up and down. Some side/side is allowable, but axial play is bad. By the way, the search buton is awesome!
