I just bought a 92 laser awd turbo. It does burn a bit of oil, and blow white smoke underboost due to the valve steam seals are starting to go. My question is, do you guys think that lucas oil stabilizer would help my problem out ? until i can get the cash to get the seals fixed.

 

could be blowby, dsm's suck :P. white smoke burnt is coolant, gray smoke is unburnt gas .

 

what the ---- are valve steam seals?


**edit** i know what valve STEM seals are, i know its hard to sense sarcasm over the internet, but damn

 

dsm ----, my friend thought he had the same problem, white smoke, and he was talking about his valve stem seals , I guess it's a dsm thing, but when he took the head out, the headgasket was shot. Changed it, done....no smoke

 

valve stem seals go on the top and bottom of the valve guide to help keep oil out of combustion chamber

 

lemme tell you a story about lucas oil stabilizer. my b16a smoked liek achimney before i built it, and quicksilvi ran that ---- thru it. it \dint help anything except gum up the entire motor, cake shitto the valves and make things a general pita to work on. sounds to me like the motor/turbo is shot. man up and rebuild it. dont beat around the bush with ----- additives, cause it aint gonna do ----.

their powersteering anti-leak/sealeant is crap don`t do ----
their autotranny band repairing thing is crap don`t worth for ----.
