yeah i checked the vac lines. ive read on a nother site the the ecu doesnt think like that, it just decieds how much fuel and air to run. ive checked with people with the a6 motor running the pm7 and they said it ran fine. so i thnk im just going to give that ecu a try. any other opinions?

I highly dought it's the ecu.You positive there is no vacum leaks anywhere?Throttle body gasket? When you unplug the IACV does the idle change?Normally they only cause the hunting up and down at idle not a ripping 3000rpm.Clean the throttle body as well i have had them get gummed up before and not properly closing the butterfly all the way.

I had the same problem before, just get some carb cleaner and spray the ---- out of the TB and the intake manifold. THE CHEAPEST way to start out. its highly unlikely it’s the ecu's fault.

yes i cleaned the ---- out of the tb, i acutally took the butterfly off and cleaned that. What is the IAVC? Also the gasket would make it idel like that? I guess i could change that. Anything else you could think of?

IACV it stand for idle control valve. and yes the gasket would make it idle bad. check all your hoses and ---- and if you cant find anything take one off and see what happens. ex. run the same or run even worse. then check your gasket and if that isn’t it go and buy a new IACV. ps new one are $ $ $

It is the round tube shaped thing on the back of the manifold with two hoses and a plug.Undo the plug and see if the idle drops down and if it does try cleaning it with brake clean and a good flush. If no change when unplugged then that is not the problem.Throttle body gasket will have major effects on idle as well as make sure the butterfly is closing in the throttle body.Have you done anything to the car prior to the idle going up or is it just pop up randomly?
