Ostrich - Moates (how do I upload a file?)
I have no clue what i'm doing, This is my first time using it, I'm just trying to get something loaded so i can get he car started. I need like a walk thru or something. How do i get my bin loaded so the ECU will read it?
That program is only for programming and reading ROM chips on the BURN1 chip burner from moates.net. The only programs available for uploading to the ostrich are Crome, Uberdata 1.7ost2/1.8/1.9, and TunerPro.
You need to get your pieces straight.
Ostrich-"RTP", romulator, live update.
Burn1- chip burner/eraser/reder ect.
You need to use a program that supports live updates to use the ostrich. It will work fine for putting a file on it and just running it. It is kinda like the worlds most expensive EEPROM is you are just loading it each time and plugging it in later.

actually if I am not mistaken, you CAN in fact use the Moates Burn1 software to send files to the ostrich, its just a lame idea to use that method.
Do this, this is the most quick generic basemap instructions ill give.
- Install Crome
-Open Crome
- Create new p30 (203) file (hint: file menu choose new)
- If you're turbocharged, add boost tools+ from the plugins menu
- from tools menu, select boost tables adjustments adjust turbo eff, 120-130% and give yourself a .8-.9 timing retard, hit ok.
- Tools menu, fuel multiplier, resize your injectors (if needed)
- plugins menu, add quick datalogger and rtp
- plugins menu, remove checksum routine
- options button on main screen, set your rev limiter, vtec rpm (or disable if you're non vtec), remove or change speed limiter, and disable any sensors you dont have.
- tools menu choose real time programming, this basically adds a toolbar to the screen to control the ostrich.
- push the 'put' button
- push the 'realtime update' button
- start the car
- make adjustments as needed
