Computer help needed

Default Computer help needed

Alright i get into cs and i play for maybe five mins then my comps fps starts to spike(100fps-85fps) i know its not anything overheating because my computer has some built in temp gauges not to mention i have the gauge that tells the temp of the water running through it.
amd athlon 3000+
asus k8vse delux mother board
1gb ram
nvidia fx5700 256mb
koolance case
win xp home

This post makes absolutely no sense. Your FPS spikes? FPS? as in Frames Per Second? The general standard for measuring performance of most First person shooters. Is this really what you're saying? If not, please clarify.

Lol dont trip dude my fps(yes frames per second) spike(go back and forth like your ability to pay attention)and cause the game(counter strike) to get a choppy effect(like all the cellulite on your girls legs) lol jk...no but really though

well ---- why didn't you just say that instead of abbreviating everything i hate that ----.
so basically its lagging really bad or what? how many processes do you have running? how long has this been happening? whats the refresh rate of your monitor? bla bla, more info = more helpfull advise.

umm 85 fps is more than enough to play a game, at 85 it definitely wouildn't be choppy

Ahh. the problem is in your terminology. A spike is a sharp rise followed by a sharp decline. I don't consider 85-100 a 'spike' more of a fluctuation. Are you using the 81.98 drivers? Does this only happen with CS or does it happen in other games too? Provide as much info as you can and I'll probably be able to help.
