Default problem with watching video's

i have a 1.7gig processor, 128mb ram (probobly my problem) and cable internet. for some reason at least half of the videos i try to watch online play the sound just fine but the picture is almost like a slideshow. it just shows clips of the video and it is pretty far behind. is there an upgrade i can download for the windows media player or something? if i could ever quit buying turbo parts then i could afford more ram, but for now can i do anything else to help?

buy another stick of 128mb you cheap bastard, and what's ur video card, it's probably a 2yr old and a box of crayons.

128mb pc333(or whatever) $40
64mb POS video card <$20 at a used parts store.

hell, i've got some 32mb cards in a bag on my floor that didn't have much problem playing videos on a 1.8ghz AMD. send me $15 and i'll send ya a few

ummm... its not his ram.. sounds more like his video card to me

one of my desktops with 64mb ram and 600mhtz can play videos just fine u just need to check the drivers for your video card... sometimes they go boo boo

right click my computer go to properties and click the hardware tab click device manager.. click display adaptors..

before you do that..

go to start > run and type in dxdiag wait for it to load up then click the display tab tell me the approx total memory.

under the "system" tab it says "Memory: 128mb ram" "page file: 203mb used 103mb available"
under the "display" tab it says "approx. total memory 16.0mb"
