Im on the way to order a set of eagle H-beam rods from summit.. i got the D16A9 engine but they dont have that engine code listed there? but alot of other D16 engines from wich other D16 motor will rods fit? is the ZC engine the same as my engine?

I would not quote me on this, but I believe almost all d16 rods are the same. The d16a9 is the Euro version of the ZC right? I'm using Eagle H-Beams in my ZC.

 

yes it should be the same motor i think? isn't it the D16A6 that has almost the same bottom as the DOHC?

 

I thought the ZC rods were different?

tuner toys is running a goup buy on h-beam rods and 9:1 dohc zc/d16a1/d16a9 turbo pistons. $199 for rods, and $476 inlcuding rings for the pistons.

ok to bad i allready had the pistons.... i ordered the rods from summit 2 days ago should appear in 2 week i guess my goal is 400hp lets see if that D16 will hold :P

 

Got my Eagle rods last week! they fit and eveything! and i have allready notched the block!

BUT! why doesn't the H-beam rods have a oil hole drilled at the bottom of the rod?

my stock rods got that hole! and i know it provides the rod bearings with oil!

but how are the eagle rods getting oil to the bearings?

so please anyone?

 

dont worry about it. they will work just fine, the holes at the bottom are not needed, just slap them in and boost!!

Thx good to hear! i went to the local machine shop today and the guy who ownes it suggested that we should drill the holes into the eagle rods!

because it provides the piston with oil and cooles it down a little bit! and i trust him he has worked alot with eagle parts before
