1º Could i mount the oil cooler upside down? With the ports facing down? Simply by space reasons...

2º should i fill oil cooler and lines with oil before start up? Since the cranking won´t fill the lines due to the sandwich plate having a thermostat... it would only fill when the temp raises to open the thermo. right?

3º i´ve read somewhere that we should crank the car several times, with the injection and igniton leads off, so too fill the turbo oil lines and cooler, true?

If i don´t fill the oil cooler/lines isn´t the risk when the thermo opens a sudden brake of oil pressure, and air bubbles on the engine lubricating system?

 

Well the oil will be pressurized, so the direction shouldn't be a huge issue.

I would remove the thermostat though. No need for it, it could only do harm to the turbo.

 

Harm to the turbo why?? all the cars that have stock oil cooler´s i´ve seen have a thermostat, all gas saab´s have one...

It has is logic,i want the oil to run in it´s ideal temp all the time, not allways cold...

 

You can just pull the ignition fuse and crank the car for a little to get oil in everywhere. I used to do that with my turbo kits until I stopped giving a ---- and just start it up.



You need a thermostat to maintain proper oil temps.
