Well I was using a 1 bolt mounting system on my CRX but I really didn't feel safe. I figured Honda used 2 so I should too. This is a quick attemp that I test fit in the car. Seems to fit well. I am going to make one for the other side too. Sucks that these are so important and have to be so strong. EG/EK/DC are not an issue but the EF and CRX are important and if they broke I could see disaster. What are your thoughts?

 

Looks really good. I have some bars that only use one hole and Ive had problems with them over the last year. One day I snapped a heim joint and it sent my wheel right into my fender and busted it all up. And that was only at 30-35mph, If it happened on the highway it could have been real bad. So for next season I purchased some jimfab bars because of the way there radious bars mount with two holes and only one heim joint.

 

try something like this one i made for my setup. i stole the idea from the z10 traction bar setups. less work to make probably.

 

My thoughts are that your fab looks shitty - take a close look at how much weld you have and the stress forces + angle of the forces on the weld. Dainty, to say the least. I wouldn't trust it on a 58 hp HF.

On ED chassis which require radius rods, one of those puppies breaks at parking lot speeds you're gonna fold the LCA mount on the rear crossmember. Higher speeds = eeek!

Weir's right - at least take a look at the z10 unit.

I use 1 bolt, I have a 1" DOM Material with 2 tabs mounted on them. Haven't had any poblems yet, except that guys have been saying they are too bulky and hard to install. I'm looking for a newer lower profile design. What is the thickness of that? Looks 3/8 to 1/2"?

 

 

My fab looks shitty? This would hold an entire car off the ground. I not concerned about the strength. Maybe the picture doesn't do it justice. These are plenty strong.
The main bar is 1"x1/2" and the extensions are 1/4" welded pretty deep in. Aaron's design is nice and looks strong but not adjustable on the car. So adjusting at the track would be difficult.

 

actually, mine is adjustable, but everything is at the front so it is easy to access. similar to this one:

 

I was looking at this and I might try to use a design like this, but mounting the Hiem Joint there instead of the Stock Rod. This is what z10 does. My only fear in the articualation and binding issues.

I have no fear in my design, just it can be difficult to install.
