Default Turbo noob in need of help

Hey guys, I've been reading your site and i must say it's awesome. I've seen so many dsm turbo setups that it makes me think about going turbo. To get to the question...I'm planning on getting a 88-91 EF hatch ( DX or STD ) and running a i/2.5 exhaust with mpfi until i get the money up for a custom turbo.

What i need from you guys is, What do i need to run a fairly cheap, reliable, safe, turbo setup ( tranny, turbo, engine management, fuel etc ) that'll get me in the mid to low 14's ( on street tires ) on the stock d15b2 block ?

The thing is i just want to get used to having a turbo before i go bigger and be able to show some respectable gains on a stock block ( the car is a daily driver ). While this turbo is on i'll be building an a6 motor for more boost and net me 12's.

TIA laterz

do research like the rest of us have done. All I have to say is that buy the right part the first time. Dont rush into it becuase before you know it you will have invested a lot of money, whether you want to or not. And it kinda sucks when all your hard work breaks after a few hours because you wanted to take shortcuts on some parts. There is plenty of info on this website for you to decide what you need. Fuel management is key.

Coo, i think it'll be better to not rush into ----. I'll keep the motor stock and wait until i build the a6. In the meantime i'll look around here for a gravy setup. Thanks guy
