Default T25 turbo on CRX SI tranny - too small??

Alright,

I have a CRX SI, with SOHC ZC using the stock SI tranny. I also have a homemade turbo kit that ive built using a T 25 turbo. Now I noticed that on the freeway around 65-75 mph I am constantly at a high rev of 3500rpms.

My question is: wont that many RPMs keep the small T25 turbo at almost full boost while just crusing on the freeway? In turn killing gas mileage, turbo, and engine?

So I was considering getting CRX DX, and going MPFI then boost, or Just getting the DX tranny for the longer gears then boosting. Any Info would be great thanks

Just get a bigger turbo!!!!!!

No your turbo won't be making boost, BUT one slight flick of the Accelerator pedal and WHAMMY you'll have boost instantly!

at cruise your not going to see any boost reguardless, if you tip in throttle it may spool pretty quick on the higher gears. But I honestly wouldnt worry about it. And there is no way in hell I'd ever recommend getting a DX tranny to replace the SI trans. The longer geared w/ boost myth is crap, if you want good quarter mile times and a all around fun car to drive, go with the SI trans, trust me

I had exactly that setup -motor,tranny,turbo on my car until a month ago.It was awesome on the highway just light on the throttle and zero boost. When you want to pass boost is absolutley instant and it felt like a nice V6 at the 11-12psi I was running you could pass traffic with a flick off the throttle. As much as people hate on the T25 I liked it for the awesome street power as it made great low end power and up to 60-70mph i could walk on alot of cars with much more hp.After that spped though they would catch up and go by.I blew the SI tranny up and replaced it with a DX and it just plain sucked, I thought maybe that long gear theory held some truth but it def deosn't.Do it you will love it and it will make for a really fun street setup capable of 13's easy.I had 2.5" mandrel bent side exit exhaust with no muffler so that was def helping with spool as well.
