Will the engine harness from a 2000 civic ex (d16y plug-in to the chasis harness on a 1995 civic cx hatch? Will I have to change anything? I still have the (modified) engine harness from my hatch but I may be buying a d16y8 (with harness if I want). The engine harness from my hatch is in pretty rough shape.

OBD2/1 harnesses are different, your best bet is to always stick with the original harness with the car and just make it work.

 

unfortunately I figured that would be the response.

 

well technically you could swap the OBD2 harness in your car and run the OBD2 ecu as well.. you'd just be basically converting your car to OBD2. I've seen it done. All the plugs on OBD2 go directly to the ecu.
