Default job market: good money in the NE OR PacNW?????

my fiancee (peeps) and i were tossing around the idea of moving away from D.C.
she was thinking of the Vermont area and i was thinking of the Pac NW. Vermont would not be a bad place though.
since i know there are quite the few members in both areas i was wondering what the average cost of living is and what an experienced dealership parts guy could make out there. right now i am going to make ~$42-43K this year and looking to ask for a raise soon(~$50-52K). i know the Reynolds & reynolds system inside and out which is what a lot of dealers use.

any insight or experiences would be great

well i live in ny about 2 hours from vermont. cost of living will be reasonable, especially compared to that of the seattle area. i think that you might get paid less though, or will be driving to ny or mass to make more money.

actually from what i have found the prices are actually a bit cheaper in the Seattle area. and i dislike driving a long ways to work. with seattle being so close there is prob more jobs too.

the only thing i am really worried about is not having any family close by in case something happens and the kids need someone to watch them. all my fam lives on the east coast

In Vermont you need two things, a nose plug and a butt plug.

One for the cows and one for the ****.

Seattle is quickly becoming one of the more expensive places to live for the greater surrounding area. I live in West Seattle, and ----, home prices are like double what they are worth, and the gays are moving in and classing everything up, class = expensive. Dont get me wrong its a great place, just REALLY costly. Still some cheap parts of the city, but pretty deep ghetto at that point.
