Default Bought some D series stuff for cheap.

i picked up another motor today for my 4 door ( long story ill explain at the end ) .

Well it justr so happens that i needed one becuase my bad *** SOHC zc/vtec head combo took a ---- after only 20 minutes of driving and boost.

The motor is a complete D16A6 with tranny and i got it for 100 bux from this guy locally. On top of that later today i got a blown Y8 with head and bottome with #3 rod non existing. Pulled the head and the thing loks cherry.

Now, the plan is to take out the wack Y8/ZC combo and in its place slap in the complete A6 motor. later when i break it in or atleas assure myself it can deal with boost i will swap out the Head to again attemp the A6/y8 combo.

It was a long and tiring 2 days for me and Rene, LSD mike and his buddy. However i know the 2nd time around it will come together nicely.

P.s

Im also getting a d15 from a 93 dx coupe for 50 bux. Wish me luck dammit!!!!

pics will be up later today..im stilla t work :P

it just didnt run right and we pushed it

the valves or something in the head was making a gowdawful noise yet we still took it for a tunning session. that and we werent sure wether the timing was correct.

we used tha cam sprocket that came with the head( it wasnt a Y8 cam gear ) it was one off a PM3 or something. any way we had to turn it like 3 teeh from the marks over to get it to idle at !6 degrees BTD.

i dont know what went wrong but when RenR hooked up Vtec to a 12V source is smoked like a chimney.

any thoughts??>?>>

Exactly Spenser. Just post up a thread on HT in the socal section and ask for free sohc's and you'd probably have your garage filled to the brim. Now if there legit that another question better left unanswered. lol.
