I've locked myself out of my crx (91 SI) and I know i've heard people say you can unlock them using a licence plate but I can't seem to figure it out.

 

is it really wise to educate the peoples on this topic? Sucks that you locked you keys in your car, but I'm sure if you do a quick web search, you could easily figure out how to get in.

 

never heard of a plate but a hanger would work. any hard wire. ---- if your real skinny you could bend back the window reach in and open it up. or break it and call your insurence and say you got broken in to

Sure, it's easy.

Just hold your license plate up against your window and punch it as hard as you can. The window breaks, and you can let yourself in...

 

do the coat hanger method! instead of trying to unlock the door, it's easier to actually pop the trunk and crawl to the front door. giver it a try.

 

I've unlocked 88-91 Civic with plastic combs, sticks picked up off the ground, etc.

Pull the piece of outside trim off the door window, and stick about 5" worth of what the ---- ever in just to the right of the door lock cylinder and push the lever arm down. Door pops right open.

FYI, this has about as much to do with stolen cars as immobilizer removal has to do with ITR theft. People who are going to get your car will, and most the stereo thieving kiddies I meet toss bricks, or use center punches when they want to be quiet. If you're remotely worried, the 96+ (maybe even 92+, never tried) door lock cyls DON'T rotate without a key and swap over.
