Default What Metal To Use To Build a manifold

I'm looking to built completly a manifold for a Turbo apps on a D serie Engine, I'm wondering if anyone know which metal to use (I know not aluminium and stuff like that) but in the metal steel for an example you have many kinds, which one to use, what to look for...

most common is either 304 stainless schedule 10 or mild steel schedule 40. 1.5" ID is very common. www.mcmastercarr.com or you local steel plumbing store is where you can find. note you need special wire or welders to weld stainless.

build it from inconel if you got a lot of money or if you are poor like the rest of us use mild steel. stainless works too cost is a lot higher

how good are your welding skills. i am thinking you have never welded b4 because of the question asked. so with that in mind go with the easiest to weld / mild steel (cheepest too)

Mild steel elbows are quite often just as expensive as SS elbows as you cannot find them in Sch. 10, only 40.

SS is cheaper the Mild

in the Classifieds weirracing sells SS elbows for 7.00. not a bad price.
