Default Screw welding, do you all think this will hold?? LOL!!!

looks like I wasted my money on that welder I bought last month...Premium JDM fiber Duct tape bitches!!!

anyways got my S&W cage yeasterday, its needs to be notched a little better on a few of the bars, but its pretty nice overall. the hoop looks to be bent very close and it looks like they give you plenty length on the other bars to cut if need be. not sure when it'll go in(maybe another month) since I still have to re-weld a small hole in the GTIs floorboard this weekend and treat some other minor rust spots with POR15.

I think you have to sit in the cage when it is in your living room, for true mock-up accuracy. maybe some engine noises and fake shifting would help to.

if you plan on racing in SCCA where a cage is required it wont pass tech, if the the inspector is a dick.
you need to have one crossbarbar parallel to the floor and on going diagonally in the main hoop.

if its gonna be a drag only car you should be fine.
looks to be a very nice kit. how much was it ??

yeah as of right now the plan for the car is gonna be mostly drag so thats a go, but the cage should be good enough to pass in the small local auto-x events(ie- Fedex and all those types)

but yeah its was $170...same kit that Stealthmode got, I got it through S&W(in PA) makes it, but I got it through Safe Drives over on VW vortex. took them about 1.5 weeks. I'm very pleased with the quality although a few things need trimming here and there(but better than being too short)

If I were you I'd add swingouts on that cage. It becomes a pain in the *** climbing over them
