Default does this look like there'd be boost leak?

thanx for the help. i was just wonderin if this would cause some boost leak? if yes how would i solve this problem, a gasket?

and one more question. if this problem wont be solved by a gasket, are gaskets REALLY necessary i've heard arguments on both sides.

thanx

id use a gasket, but as long as both surfaces are flat you should be just fine.

They aren't. I had the same problem. I went to the fab shop and had it milled/shaved down until it was all one level surface. Problem solved. Did that turbo come from a Volvo 740?

^ hey thanx for the replies, i have no idea what car it came off of. i have been tryin to figure that out for days. its a T3, TB03, .52a/r .48 turbine. but i just put this stuff called "permanex" its a silicone gasket. i put it all over the turbo flange, and smeared it with my finger, bolted the turbo on the mani. then put some silicone gasket around the edges to keep it from leaking. should hold up great! but if you guys know what car this turbo came off of it'd be great, just for future parts (hopefully i wont need any anyways).

thanx
