engine noise need help!

Default engine noise need help!

i got an engine noise that starts @ 2700 rpm under acceleration.
sounds like valve tap Iadjusted the valves and didnt see anything wierd in the valvetrain. the noise goes away on decel. I have no clue where its coming from

its a d16y8 i thought possibly rods/or mains i rather try to confirm it before i tear down the engine

#4 rod most likely, toss the Y8 in the trash can!

Focking POS Honda ruined SOHC's after 1995!

you sure its engine and not tranny?? could be throw out bearing?

I put a new tranny in a couple of months ago

i dont think its the tranny because it does it no matter what gear your in and only under load

the throw out bearing would make more of a constant noise i'd think. i'd lean more towards rod knock.
pop the hood and have someone rev the engine and hold it at the RPM's you hear the noise. check for any movement or rattling in the engine bay, and try to find out if you hear it louder at the bottom end.

a month ago, my z6 did the same thing... idled fine, but when you would open the throttle, you'd hear the knock.
