Default .4 bar with no intercooler okay?

Will it be okay for me to run .4 bar (5.6psi) without the use of a intercooler? My tubing will run through the bottom of my bumper if that will help my cooling at all.

Running without a IC is okay, the thing is...

The air that get's in the intake, is warmer...

Warm air, is powerless.

Yes you can do it, but when you can pick up say a stock 1g sidemount for dirt cheap on ebay, I don't see any reason to not run atleast that.

It won't help cooling, but at 5.6 psi you probably don't need to run an intercooler, just run the highest octane you can. Any reason you won't an intercooler?

You shouldn't have to, but why not get one and push 7 pounds and not worry about detonation. They really aren't hard to instal and they are so effective. But at .4 bar you shouldn't be that bad just be carefull in the heat and run 92.

91octane is the highest that comes in cali. I don't want to run 7psi, because my car wont be tuned, just using a FMU. As for why not just get a cheapo smic, w/o one will make for a cleaner setup, the pipes are just to out of wack on the dsm one, plus the pipes are like 1.75inch on this. I'm going to be running a intercooler later when money in. That's why I'm doing a FMP (front mount pipe) for now.

---- the FMP, just run the shortest piping you can.

If you can find a way to route the piping in such a way that it will be exposed to cool air (your FMP you're calling it), then why can't you find a way to cut out a section in that piping and squeeze in a small intercooler? DSM's aren't the only cars that came with intercoolers. You can dig through ebay and find something with endtanks you can use. Here's a couple examples after not even 5 minutes of searching.

But if you insist on not running an intercooler, then I agree with the above guy. Don't even bother running a "FMP",, just go for the shortest route possible.
