Default Did a swap but no electrical power now. NEED HELP!!!

Well I swaped a D15B vtec in my civic but for some reason when I go to put the battery studs back on, the hot stud arcs. My battery fuse blew and I replaced it but now it just arcs. Besides ripping a wire on the way down when we did the install, I can't think of anything else that could of happen. Can pluging in a sensor plug in the wrong place do this or can it be the starter or alternator? Well any insight will help. Thanks.

Check if you got all your ground wires connected.

Yeah I know for sure that all those grounds are connected for sure cause I did them myself. The only thing I didn't do is connect the alternator, my bro in law did that. he grounded it but is there a hot wire for the alternator? I can't remember. I'll check that tommarow.

i''d say check the grounds again. can't hurt. Also, check to make sure the engine fuse box power lead from the battery and the one to the starter are not touching anything else.

Problem solved. My unmechanically inclined help hooked up the alternator hot wire to a ground. Man it is hard to find good help .

rofl... but 1 question. I fail to see how it would short unless the ALT is making power; meaning you have the car running? Otherwise its just a dead wire isnt it?

No, I think it is a hot wire that is battery direct. It is the white 10 or 12 guage wire on top of the alternator that has that rubber cover over it. Yeah it has to be battery direct and no my car wasn't running.
