Default Wich engine management for a Toyota Corolla XRS

I, i'm planning to build a homemade turbo project on the Toyota Corolla XRS of one of my friend! the only problem i got is which engine management is avaible for this car? i really need to control de timing and the fuel because the compression ratio of this engine is: 10.5:1 from factory. the engine in this car is 2ZZ-GE !

Try a standalone....I've read in a magazine where they boosted a a matrix and used a TEC2 EMS...that was a while ago.
There are also cheaper EMS's...like Stinger from EMS.
A friend of mine used it, and it worked well, but you got to start from scratch.
That engine also has e returnless fuel system.

I think MS2 is better suited, but I don't know if it will controll the toyota ignition..haven't read up much about it.
Or he can use VEMS...it has support for almost every ignition, but then again for an extra 300 bucks you can get the Stinger EMS which is a finished product and has alot of good features that is just a touch of a button away.

MGS1 is a better system then MGS2.

There is more user interface MGS1 at the moment from many years of users using it. I have a friend looking into using MGS1 on his 92 celica. From what he has learned, Toyota ignition is a bitch to boost with. Near impossible to do without a MSD BTM

Hrm.

Then just run a silly set of GM coilpacks. There's enough GM junk broken down across the world you can get a set for free...

Which exposes MGS1's flaw; no ignition control. Makes it a glorified additional injector controller.

Correction, if you are intellegent enough it has ignition control. You just have to learn how to utilize the extra outputs and options to gain it. My Prof at school (Creator of EasyTherm and MS Palm) has worked on a few MS1 cars that use it to control ingition. It's just not a direct option. It's just the MS1 has had spawn programs and options with it. I've seen guys use the the auxillary outputs and software to control Water injection. These types of features will take YEARS to develop on MS2 unless you want to develop them yourself.
