Internal to External wastegate

Just wanted to know if i could weld my internal wastegate and then make it an externally gated turbo without problems to the turbo later down the road, any help is appreciated

Yes, just use a block off flange for the downpipe and you're good to go.

where can i get one of those flange?

or hold the flapper shut and tack weld the little flapper arm to the housing on the outside of the turbo, hmt style.
