i smoke like a mother F. but under lots of rpm only.. i checked my comp.. and there all in mid 100's like 120's...went to try a leak down but the adapter wouldnt go in the valve cover ! damn didnt have the right one.. what else is there to worry about then rings ? valve seals right ? im still boostin soon .. ---- it !!!

 

Instead of worrying about the piston rings I would worry about ringlands

those comp #'s are mass low.

 

100 is very low

 

Let put it this way.. My car burns mad oil and I've been sitting on my turbo kit for probably 2 years now waiting to swap engines so I can boost. My compression is 155-160-160-165 right now. If you boost on what you have now, it will last all of 10 minutes.

why not? get some forged internals. tuner toys rods and wiseco pistons, and if ur poor, vitaras work very well, several members on here haven proven there strength

 

i was readin in Chiltons.. that around 200rmp 130's was what compretion should be ?...and was told mid 100's is where i should be ?....Why cant i ---- out money like some people...Crisp $100's would be quite nice !

 

My z6 tests a warm compression of 195psi in all 4 cylinders, it showed 110-120 #'s when the pistons were broken, so yes your compression sucks butt.

 

fuuuck...d series are the cheapest ------ motors and still im too poor and impatient..i need a better job...minimum for being a janitor SUCKS !
