on my d16y7 do i need new headbolts when i swap out my headgasket? like do they stretch or anything? or should i be fine....

 

u dont need new ones but if u wanted to get arps now is the time

 

Really don't need em, just make sure you know what hole they came out of. It's better for torque.

 

I got ARP studs when I swapped heads. Its worth the extra money for piece of mind.

ok just a couple questions about arp's then..... im going to get them from lightening motorsports..... so they come with nuts? or do i have to go try to find some good ones and which nuts do i get? are they just like regular studs where you tighten 2 nuts, one backwards, one forward, on the stud and tighten it down?

 

thread them into the block finger tight, then install the nuts and washers. Lube properly and torque to ARP spec.

 

thread them by hand all the way in, then back off 1/4 turn. apply lube,washers, nuts, and torque em.

 

they come with 12pt nuts, so make sure you have a 12pt socket and a descent torque wrench. install them right when you're ready to put the head on, use the lube, and torque in Honda's Sequence in 3 different steps.
