I got a JDM version console for my 95 civic and i'm going to mount my cd player in the console. In my original dash, I'm going to mount to gauges where the cd player used to be, and i need some kind of material to cut out and shape it like the rectangular opening and mount the gauges in it. I'm thinking about plastic or metal. I know where i can get metal from, but where can i get plastic for it. Are there any webs sites i can order off of?

 

ive got a whole bunch of sinage from a retail store that would work perfectly for this type of thing
i would go go a sign shop and see if they have scrap theyll probably just give it to you

 

I used plexiglass, ran a tourch across it to bubble it a bit, then painted it black.

plexiglass or sheetmetal should do the trick

 

Dont have a pic, and i sold it. But i will be making a new one in the next few weeks, I will do a writeup on it.

 

Please do a write-up. It doesn't sound pretty, but I'm curious. I need something to fill the gap around my boost gauge.

i'm doing the same thing with my civic, only its a 00' i relocated the cdplayer to that open space in the cup holder, and i'm going to put a wideband display, and boostgauge in where the cd player area is. i'm going to order a square piece of carbon fiber and glue it to a block of styrafoam that i am going to use to hold the units in place.

 

go to honda and order a radio block off plate, its for civics that had no stereo, its flat and snaps in place you can drill it for whatever. Thats what I did with my eg for three gauges. I would post pics but I'm lazy

 

sounds like a good idea or just get a peice of metal and do it that way. cheap and easy. it's HMT.
