anyway, i have a belkin usb to serial adapter with the zeitronix hooked up and can't get it to collect any data. i've double checked and have both the switched power and ground hooked up. i have the belkin driver installed and just installed the latest zeitronix software. still nothing. tried the space bar crap too.

 

since i kinda need the car tommorow and don't have anything to plug the wideband hole with, will the unit be powered without the laptop but still switched and grounded?

 

yep, the unit will still be powered.

did you try changing the com ports? its kind of difficult to set it up correctly, I know i had trouble with mine.

 

I had issues with the serial to USB BS. So I ended up just using the serial cable. I know some other people have had issues with the serial to USB adapter as well. Did you buy it from zeitronix?

i bought the belkin usb to serial at circuit city. it's for pda to laptop stuff. i don't have a serial port available to me on the laptop so this is all i can do. people have used this so i don't think that if i return it and get another one from zeitronix it will just work.
