I was wondering if it's possible or if anyone has tired to use like a 1g DSM BOV or something of the like and modified it so it whistles like a HKS one. I was just curious because I like the whistle, but not down with spending more on a dang BOV than on my turbo itself. It may be ricy to some, but oh well, I like the sound. Anyone?

the HKS bov has two valves, its a quicker responding BOV, just like the toyota MR2 unit.

mr2 bov doesn't whistle and it doesn't have two valves like the HKS SSQV. the only similarity is that they operate as a 'pull type' valve as oppose to a push type the the dsm bovs. GOD DAMN I KNOW MY TOYS!!

 

well you're half right, and im half wrong. The mr2 doesn't have two valves but it does have two diaphrams, The HKS is the same design. They both respond to change in manifold pressure. not vacume like a normal BOV. also, My buddies HKS doesn't whistle.
