ok, i got the turbo on, blah blah blah. theres a problem. when i rev the motor the turbo spools fine, but when i let off the gas, the turbine slows, but it makes a chattering noise. i was like what the ----? so i drove it and it pulls hard but still makes that noise. so what do you think it is? i have a slight oil leak but i think its because of my drain line being a litle kinked. HELP ME!!!! the car needs to be better ny sunday!!!!!!
edit" its not like a twist, its like when you bend a hose and it bind a little bit in the middle. help me out here guys

 

sounds like youve got compressor surge! do you have a blow off valve?

 

i have a bov, its the fog horn style. should i try spraying the cylinder with some wd40, maybe its a little jacked up. i have 30 vac when its idling, but im running the boost gauge and the bov off of the brake booster

 

i dont think your BOV is working properly... try lubing it or something. i have my boost gauge and bov both t'd off my brake booster also, no probs

 

your bov should be open at idle, is it?

 

it turned out to not be the bov that was making the fucked up noise. the wastegate flap was spining arounf inside of the turbo. all i had to do was put a washer on the internal wastegate to make it sit higher up on the flange and now it purs like a kitten.
