I want to keep my A/C but not willing to fork $500 for a manifold a/c compatible. any ideas?

that is the same thing that im running into. i posted a thread on honda-tech, and there are several companies out there that have manifolds for around 300, but im not willing to spend that much...i just decided ---- a/c, i would rather have a boosted car.

1) Buy a welder and make your own manifold.
2) Have a tiny and funky downpipe, have the exhaust side of the turbo facing away from the A/C compressor stuff. (May not be possible at all)
3) Lose the A/C.

I might just pay the $350 and go witthe manifold but i will get the DP don elocally and forget the BOV and save themoney that way. many factory turbo cars don't have BOV and they last over 100000k miles just found a place they have the a/c manifold 304L log manifold for $275 shipped not bad

from what i understand, if you dont have a bov, when you shift, pressure will still be in the charge pipe and can cause the turbo to spin backwords or just slow down the turbo. correct me if im wrong, but the bov helps keep you in boost when you shift.

most if not all of the cars without a bov are autos...but currently i dont run one lol
why not use a 1g DSM bov? they are cheap and work well.
