Default oil problem part one

About 2 weeks ago, we put a DSM turbo kit on my friends D16y7... it ran really good and made good boost.. But after 3 days, the car started smoking really bad.. and there was lots of oil in the exhaust. So fist off we thought that the seals was bad... So then we made a trip to tulsa to buy a new turbo. Then we get back home and still the same problem.. So 3 days later we buy another turbo. and the same thing happens... Lots of oil comming out of the intercooler piping and the compressor housing and the air intake on the turbo side... people kept saying that the turbo is getting to much oil but it dont think so.. the oil pressure is 80psi wide open. and at idle its at 55psi.. the return line is ok and ive checked and checked over and over.... so if anyone can help us find the problem let me know what you think...

Oh... We put the stock exhaust manifold and all the smoking stopped..

That is way too much oil! You found your problem. A turbo can survive fine on 30psi at wide open. Time for an adjustable restrictor from Stealthmode.

could also be the drain, my 14b dsm turbo is fine with no restrictor.

I heard somewhere that garrett recommends only like 15 psi for their turbos. Needless to say I do have a restirctor on mine.

Ok.. we pulled the head off the motor, and then looked at the pistons and the pistons move back and forth and side to side.... The motor did not knock at all .. so im thinking that theres something wrong with the piston rings.... jcould this be why all the turbo we bought had problems with oil?
